MS Excel : How to Name CELLS AND RANGES
In Excel, you can name singular cells and gatherings of
cells, called ranges.. A cell called Tax or a range
called Northern_Region is easier to remember than
the corresponding cell address. You can use named
cells and ranges directly in formulas to refer to the
values contained in them. When you move a name
range to a new location, Excel is automatically updated
any formula that refers to the named range.
When you name a range, determine the scope of
the name when telling Excel if it applies to the
Current worksheet or the entire workbook. You can
name several ranges at once using Excel Create
from the Selection option. You can use the name
Administrator to delete named ranges.
Excel range names must be less than 255 characters.
The first character must be a letter. Can't use
spaces or symbols, except the period and
underscore. It is better to create short, memorable
names To learn how to use a named range.
