Tips and tricks for Ebay auction buyers.
eBay is not just an auction and a market: it can often look a lot like a game. Here are some things you can try.
Buy in the summer.
This is simple, but effective. While everyone else enjoys the sun, spend some time to find real bargains.
Defeat them for a few cents.
Outperform people for a few cents instead of a few dollars: if they don't pay back before the auction ends, they will be the winner. However, to prevent people from using this tactic with you, it always offers strange and hard-to-guess amounts instead of round numbers.
Play dirty.
If you know when the auction ends, you can enter there at the last second and beat your rivals. Most likely, they don't have time to sit in front of the auction waiting for it to end, usually the one who stays wins. However, if someone else retaliates at the end of the auction, try not to get carried away in those last seconds and end up paying too much!
Take risks
This is a strategy for the brave eBay buyer. All the tips you will see for eBay beginners tell you to buy items that have good images, clear descriptions, reliable sellers and everything else. If you are brave, why not take the risk and do the exact opposite?
Many buyers will not want that item from the seller with a comment rating of 5, no image and a description of a line. If you assume a calculated risk and make an offer anyway, you may be able to make a small offer and earn by default. There are people on eBay who make a living by winning auctions like these, taking good photos of the article, writing a good description and then reselling it with a great profit. However, be careful: do this long enough and you will inevitably lose your money at some point. It is especially imprudent to try it with very high value items.
Avoid bid wars.
There are few things on eBay that are so rare that you will only see them once and never again. Usually, there are quite a few vendors that have an item. In addition, they will generally have more than one to sell, even if they have not listed them all at once. Always check your seller's history to see if they sell your item all the time, and if they do, wait for the next one instead of bidding for the heavens.
Now, there may come a time in your eBay life when you realize that you have ruined your offer and wish there was an "undo" button. This is the good news for you: there are! The next email will try to withdraw your eBay offers.
