I installed LAMP in one of my desktops and backup my real WP site every week. Then restore it locally. I achieve two things - a backup for my blog and a place to test out new plugins/themes. As to GIMP sanayan lang - don't know all the ins and outs yet but with what little I know in Photoshop, the GIMP can address my needs. Ako po, the only files I can't open with Ubuntu are Corel documents. I use GIMP for simple photo retoke and the like... and no virus attack since when I first made the shift :-) yay! the Ubuntu tribe is increasing slowly but surely.
