I know. I haven’t been online for sometime. >.< Staying at my sister’s dorm meant no net for me, so I haven’t been online. But I’m back and I’m ecstatic! My Ubuntu CD arrived the other day, although I wasn’t home when it arrived so mom received it for me. :D

I have just opened it and I am excited to try it. I like Windows, but I really am just so pissed at getting so much viruses so I wanted to try other options. Since Mac OX isn’t an option (I don’t have a mac, sheesh, I can’t even get my own cheap laptop.) I decided to give Ubuntu a try. :D I haven’t had a chance to set it up yet, but I will in a few days after all my paperwork is done.

The only thing why I can’t let Windows go, is because of Photoshop. I know there is GIMP but still, Photoshop make my life easier. Lol.

yay! the Ubuntu tribe is increasing slowly but surely. Ako po, the only files I can’t open with Ubuntu are Corel documents. I use GIMP for simple photo retoke and the like… and no virus attack since when I first made the shift :-)

ate nika, try GIMPshop… it’s basically the same as GIMP pero inedit yung mga tools para mag mukhang Photoshop siya. so yung mga pangalan, almost the same as photoshop. and it’s free :D

Try it, kung talagang nasanay ka na sa photoshop at gustong mag opensource :D

Another Ubuntu recruit :-) I use my Ubuntu to test my WordPress site. I installed LAMP in one of my desktops and backup my real WP site every week. Then restore it locally. I achieve two things – a backup for my blog and a place to test out new plugins/themes. As to GIMP sanayan lang – don’t know all the ins and outs yet but with what little I know in Photoshop, the GIMP can address my needs.

You can still use Photoshop even in Ubuntu by using Wine
