Multiply.com - Jumpstarting Pinay Young Adults Online Buy and Sell Businesses

I know Multiply.com started out here as a social network like Orkyut where you can easily upload tons of pictures in an album to share with your contacts. I know many schoolmates who shifted to Multiply after being in Friendster back in 2004. Multiply was a good choice compared to Friendster because it offered a mass upload option (which is really a must for college students who upload quite a lot of group pictures), and a much easier profile + album + blog integration.

Just three years after, it seems a multitude of young Pinay adults (and even their male counterparts) have utilized Multiply not only as a social network to keep in touch with friends, classmates and business contacts, but as a medium to jump start and get their buy and sell businesses into a mainstream audience.

You can see how much entrepreneurial our new generation of young adults are with their products ranging from cosmetics, bags, clothes, flip-flops, laptop skins, electronic gadgets, ebooks, tickets, and so much more. Since Multiply is free, all the expenses these members incur would be their time. Its also easy to set your Multiply site apart from other people by using customized templates and themes to match your business.

Going to Multiply is much like going to a bazaar or a tiangge. You can find almost everything you need at good prices, and this time all from the comforts of your own home. Many payment options are available ranging from pick-ups/meet-ups, GCash/Smart Money and bank deposits. Once Multiply members pick up the use of Paypal as a payment option, it won’t be long to see people adapting to it and doing their shopping and their businesses online.

Air21 and LBC franchises suddenly seems like a lucrative business if Pinoys continue the trend of going online for their purchases and sales.

Side note: It can be quite annoying though when you get endless Multiply spam in your emails which I do get daily. Lol.
